Computer training to learn new or enhance your skills
Employment and Skills Technology Training (EAST) offer the following services:
EAST Trg prides itself on the delivery of bespoke/tailored IT and computing training programmes offsite across the Eastern Region on employers’ premises and onsite within the SmartLIFE building at Cambridge Regional College. This training can lead to a City & Guilds nationally recognised qualification at a variety of levels or support a company to improve skills of employees for example when rolling out a new operating system.
What is the Information Technology Qualification (ITQ) and how can it work for you?
ITQ is a business-focused qualification that incorporates a variety of technology to enable the qualification to be adapted to a range of working environments. This training can be tailor made to meet all spheres of business needs as well as the needs of individuals.
ITQ works on a credit basis where learners select the units and customise the qualification to meet their needs. Each unit has a credit value from which the learner must achieve 16 credits for level 2 and 25 credits for level 3. Where company bespoke technology is used it is accredited with City & Guilds and added to the units within the qualification, therefore allowing organisations to gain recognition for tasks that are carried out on a regular basis: this might include Data Management, Customer Service or Production Systems.
Assessors/Trainers will come to your business location on a weekly/fortnightly basis and deliver personalised training with learners on a one-to-one basis or in small groups based around their/company requirements.

‘The ITQ certificate training has been a success within our company, we initially started with three members on the course which has grown to seven over the last 12 months including myself. This training is excellent for any member of the team as it refreshes your current skills and opens up new skills that have made day to day working much easier. Personally, I have developed my skills via Excel which I use for budgeting, purchasing and other financial reports. I know from talking with my colleagues that they have all found the training excellent and we will continue to enrol staff in the future. CRC have delivered the training within our time frame with little to no disruption to the working day, the staff and tutors are extremely helpful and knowledgeable’.
