Housekeeping Responsibilities
- To carry out cleaning duties as laid down in the Hospice cleaning schedule, and as instructed by the Facilities Co-ordinator or Care Service Manager.
- To wash, dry and iron clothes, bed linen, towels and soft furnishings using the hospice laundry. If required, to arrange specialist external cleaners for complex tasks.
- To ensure that all cleaning materials are stored as directed.
- To be aware of C.O.S.H.H Regulations, and to ensure that only the cleaning products listed are used.
- To inform the Facilities Co-ordinator when stocks of cleaning materials are running low.
- To liaise with the Facilities Co-ordinator and Infection Control Co-ordinator to ensure that Department of Health guidelines on cleaning standards are adhered to.
Catering Responsibilities:
- To prepare and serve foods when required, under the direction of the lead cook adhering to guidelines and regulations with reference to food handling/hygiene and preparation. This will include day-to-day meals within the hospice, sandwiches and other foods when required for special events.
- To ensure specialised planned menus are adhered to.
- To take responsibility for maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen, and ensuring that the cleaning schedule is adhered to.

This is the first full time position within our new shop which has only been open since September 2011.
The largest part of our business involves selling children's clothing and equipment on behalf of other people - which has proved extremely popular. We have a small range of new items which is an area we are working to expand.

We want a keen, enthusiastic person who will in the first instance be happy to take on varying tasks such as helping with the sales and purchase ledger including filing and accurate data processing. Then, with support and training, becoming more involved in our debtor collection and creditor processes, using our various systems to feed into our Sage 50 finance system so that we can improve the way we run and ensure information for our tenants, suppliers and staff is provided in a timely manner. In time the role will require you to be involved in all areas of the finance team.
Tasks and Duties - reporting the Finance and Operations Manager.
1. Post - open finance post, date stamp and sort into sales ledger, purchase ledger and other. List cheques separately.
2. Archiving older information so that office is kept up to date and efficient. Managing the archives so that we can find information if necessary.
3.General - be aware of the Chart of Accounts and coding for sales and purchasing ledger.
4. Purchase Ledger - match purchase orders and delivery notes to purchase invoices and issue to managers for signature, coding where possible. Be aware of the various suppliers and keep Sage finance system up to date of any changes to supplier details. Keep invoices in the correct pending files until ready to be input into Sage.
5. Purchase Ledger - input invoices accurately into Sage, support Finance Administrator in preparing the payment run.
6. Purchase Ledger - file invoices.
7. Sales Ledger - input or import information into the IBCS System in preparation for producing sales invoices on a monthly basis. Ensure information on tenants and other customers is kept up to date. Prepare supporting information of invoices as tenants require it. file invoices and backing details according to invoice number.
8. Banking - be aware of the different bank accounts, downloading bank information and identifying it to Sales and Purchase ledger and inputting it into Sage accurately. Understand and support the direct debit process and system.
9. Month End - support the month end process by preparing necessary prints from Sage, identifying fixed assets and prepayment and accruals for the Finance and Operation Manager to analyse, input journals as requested.
10. Month End reporting - running reports to see how areas of the business are meeting their KPI's, exporting information into Excel and making sure it is presentable and easy to understand.
11. Study for relevant level of AAT qualification.

The Food will all be freshly prepared on site. We use a number of classical techniques (confit, sautee, roast, grill etc) as well as using modern techniques (sous vide, sperification, gelefication, emulsions and foams.)

The role will mainly entail supporting the food preparation of this new diet delivery service and also some delivers if possible. Preparing food for cooking, chopping/peeling vegetables, making salads, cooking meats, poultry and a whole host of healthy foods. Some cleaning/washing up. Making chocolates, cakes and nutmilks.
Someone who in time will take on an active role in creating menus and recipes that will delight out customers, as well as someone who sees what needs to be done and is prepared to get stuck in and get their hands dirty.
The work will be split between deliveries (15% approx) Kitchen help (30-40% approx) and 1 day per week at college (Cambridge Regional College)
Ideally someone who has a driving licence and will do some early deliveries and be prepared to make collections from suppliers
