Huntingdon hairdressing students help Children in Need
Hairdressing students at Cambridge Regional College’s Huntingdon campus baked cakes, offered bargain styling and even came to work in their pyjamas to raise money for Children in Need.
The fundraising afternoon took place in the college’s Vitality Salon where clients were offered wash and blow dries for a bargain £3, with 50 per cent of the takings donated to the charity.
Visitors to the salon had the chance to sample delicious cakes cooked up by staff and students, and students paid a £1 donation to wear their pyjamas for the afternoon, boosting the funds for Children in Need to more than £50.
Lecturer Jo Sharp said the fun afternoon had raised awareness as well as money for Children in Need.
“The students wanted to do something special for a great charity and we received lots of support from clients. It was a great day and a big thank you to everyone who bought cakes and enjoyed bargain prices in the Vitality Salon,” she said.
